Waxing & Threading in Amritsar — Regular & Premium Wax

Waxing in Amritsar at Nakhra Studio is done by female therapists only, in a private room, in a women-only studio. We wax — we do not offer laser hair removal, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we have instead is technique, good wax, and a range chosen specifically to make this far less unpleasant than most people expect.

We do not do laser, and here is why that is fine

A lot of salons in the city advertise laser. We do not offer it. We are cosmetologists and estheticians, and we have chosen to do waxing properly rather than add a service we are not set up to deliver to the standard we would want.

The practical difference for you is smaller than the marketing suggests. Waxing done well, on a sensible schedule, with the right wax for the area and skin, gives smooth skin and gets easier over time as regrowth softens.

Our waxes

We will recommend the wax based on your skin and the area, not on what is loaded in the pot. If your skin is reactive, say so at the start and we will adjust.

Areas we wax

Full arms, half arms, underarms, full legs, half legs, back, stomach, face and upper lip, and our bikini and Brazilian range. Everything below the neck happens in a private treatment room with a female therapist.

How to get a better result

Most waxing complaints — patchiness, ingrown hairs, irritation — trace back to a handful of avoidable things:

We will go through all of this with you and tailor it. If you have very sensitive skin or get ingrowns badly, tell us and we will change both the wax and the aftercare.

Waxing versus threading

For facial hair, both have a place. Threading gives precision on brows and small areas; waxing is faster over larger areas and gives a smoother finish for longer. We do both, and for eyebrows we will usually recommend threading. Our comparison guide goes into the detail.

Before a wedding or event

Timing matters more than people think. Waxing too close to the day means skin that is still slightly reactive in photographs and under a fitted outfit. We recommend waxing two to three days before, not the morning of, and if you are also having body polishing we will sequence the two correctly so neither irritates the other.

For brides this is planned as part of the consultation. If you have several functions, we will map out which waxing appointments go where across the run so you are never scrambling.

Hygiene

Wax is never double-dipped. Spatulas are single-use and disposed of after one pass, fresh linens for every client, and every reusable tool is sterilised after every single use. This is basic, but it is not universal, and you are entitled to ask about it anywhere you go.

Our team

All our therapists are female, each with a cosmetology degree and five to seven-plus years of experience, and every one trained in-house by Mehak before working on a client. We are a private, women-only studio at 648 Basant Avenue, open every day.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer laser hair removal?

No. We offer waxing only. We are cosmetologists and estheticians and we have deliberately chosen to do waxing to a high standard rather than offer laser.

How long does my hair need to be?

About a quarter of an inch. If it is shorter, the wax cannot grip properly and the result will be patchy — it is genuinely better to wait a few days than to come in early.

How often should I wax?

Every three to four weeks for most people. Staying on a schedule keeps regrowth finer and makes each appointment quicker and more comfortable.

Can I wax if my skin is sensitive?

Yes. Tell us at the start and we will use one of our gentler premium waxes and adjust the aftercare. If you react to something, let us know before we begin rather than after.

How do I stop ingrown hairs?

Gentle exfoliation two or three times a week between appointments, not on the day of waxing, and not shaving in between. If you get them badly, tell us and we will build you a specific routine.

Should I wax or thread my eyebrows?

We usually recommend threading for brows because it gives more precision on shape. Waxing is better over larger areas. We offer both.

How long before my wedding should I wax?

Two to three days before, not the same day, so any redness has fully settled. If you have several functions we will plan the whole schedule with you.

Is the studio women-only?

Yes. All clients and all therapists are female, and waxing is done in a private room. We are at 648 Basant Avenue, near Basant Park, White Avenue, Amritsar 143001, open every day 11am to 8pm.
