Nail Extensions in Amritsar โ€” Gel, Acrylic & Gel-X Nail Art

For nail extensions in Amritsar, the two things that decide whether you are happy in three weeks are the prep and the hygiene โ€” not the colour you picked. At Nakhra Studio we are unusually strict about both, and it is why our nail clients tend to stay nail clients.

We do gel extensions, acrylic extensions, overlays, refills and removal, plus nail art, in a women-only studio on Basant Avenue.

Gel or acrylic? We will tell you honestly

There is no universally better option โ€” there is one that suits your nails, your hands and your life. We ask what you do all day before we recommend anything, because someone in the kitchen constantly and someone at a desk need different answers.

The part that actually matters: prep

Extensions lift, chip and pop off for one reason more than any other โ€” the natural nail was not prepared properly before the product went on. Prep is unglamorous, it takes time, and it is the first thing that gets skipped when a salon is running behind.

We do not skip it. Cuticle work, correct dehydration of the nail plate, the right primer for the system we are using, and product applied thin and evenly in proper layers rather than thick and fast. This is why our sets do not lift in week one, and it is also why we will not squeeze a full set into a slot that is too short for it.

We also will not damage your natural nail to make a set last longer. Aggressive filing of the nail plate is a shortcut with a cost you pay later, and we do not take it.

Hygiene, which for nails is not optional

Nail services carry real infection risk when tools are shared carelessly, and it is worth being blunt about that. Every implement we use is sterilised after every single use. Files and buffers that cannot be properly sterilised are single-use and disposed of. We use Vega professional tools, and our nail ranges include Bombini.

If you have ever left a salon with a sore cuticle or a nail that went wrong afterwards, this is usually why. You are welcome to ask us about our sterilisation process at any point โ€” we would rather you asked.

What we offer

Bridal and event nails

If your nails are for a wedding, book early and come to us before the outfit is entirely finalised if you can โ€” shape and length read very differently against different sleeves and jewellery. We plan bridal nails as part of the overall bridal consultation, and we time the set so it is fresh for the main function rather than three weeks old by then. Our bridal nails guide covers shapes and timings.

Brides usually want length. That usually means acrylic. We will tell you what is realistic for your natural nails and, if length is not a good idea for you, we will say that too.

Making them last

You will leave with the aftercare that actually matters, not a generic leaflet โ€” cuticle oil daily and why it genuinely works, gloves for washing up, not using your nails as tools, and coming in for a refill at the right point rather than waiting until there is a visible gap. Come back for removal instead of picking at a lifting nail; that is what causes the damage people blame the extensions for.

Our team and the studio

Our nail technicians each hold a cosmetology degree and have five to seven-plus years of experience, and all are trained in-house by Mehak before they work on a client. We are a private, women-only studio, open every day.

Many clients pair nails with a manicure and pedicure or a facial in the same visit โ€” mention it when you book so we hold enough time.

Frequently asked questions

How long do nail extensions last?

A well-prepared set holds two to three weeks before it needs a refill, and can be maintained with refills for a long time after that. How long yours lasts depends as much on your hands and your daily routine as on the product.

Should I get gel or acrylic?

Gel is lighter, more flexible and more natural-looking, and suits shorter to medium lengths. Acrylic is stronger and holds long or dramatic shapes, which is why most brides end up with it. We will recommend based on your natural nails and what you do all day.

Do extensions damage your natural nails?

Not when they are applied and removed properly. Damage comes from over-filing the natural nail during prep, or from picking a lifting set off at home. We do neither, and we will remove your set safely when you are ready.

How do you sterilise your tools?

Every implement is sterilised after every single use, and anything that cannot be properly sterilised โ€” files, buffers โ€” is single-use and disposed of. Please do ask us about it in the studio.

Can you remove a set done at another salon?

Yes, and we would much rather you came to us than removed it at home. Book a removal and we will take it off safely and tell you honestly what condition your natural nails are in.

How often do I need a refill?

Every two to three weeks for most people. Coming in at the right point is easier and better for your nails than leaving it until there is an obvious grown-out gap.

Where are you and are you women-only?

648 Basant Avenue, near Basant Park, White Avenue, Amritsar 143001, open every day 11am to 8pm. Yes โ€” we are a women-only studio.
